1. Who PedOTG Is For
PedOTG is a clinical reference for healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other clinicians). It is not intended for patients or the general public, and it is not directed at children. You must be 18 or older to create an account.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum data needed to provide a secure, synced experience:
- Account details: name, email address, profession and institutional affiliation, and the date you accepted our professional-use statement.
- Subscription records: plan, status, invoices and payment confirmations. Card and bank details are handled by PayPal and never reach us.
- Content you save: saved calculation results, quick notes, favourites and layout preferences, so they follow you across your devices.
- Technical data: device and sign-in information and IP addresses, used only for security, fraud prevention and enforcing the 3-device limit.
- Encryption: data is encrypted in transit, and personal data is stored in an encrypted format.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To sync your saved results, notes and preferences across your authorised devices.
- To manage your subscription and send account emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, receipts, account deletion).
- To keep the service secure and improve it. We never use your data for advertising.
4. Data Storage & Service Providers
- Database: your data is stored in MongoDB Atlas.
- Hosting: the App is hosted via Emergent.
- Payments: payment processing is handled by PayPal. We do not have access to your full financial details.
- Email: account emails are sent through Microsoft 365.
- Usage analytics: we may use PostHog to understand which features are used, so we can improve them. It does not receive patient information.
- No sale of data: we never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
PedOTG uses a hybrid storage model. Local browser storage (cache) keeps the App working in clinical areas with poor connectivity, and it is periodically synced with our database so your notes are backed up. We do not use advertising cookies.
6. How Long We Keep Data
- Account data is kept while your account is open and deleted when you delete your account.
- Invoices and payment records are kept only as long as tax and accounting law requires, and are used for nothing else.
- A one-way coded fingerprint of your email address (not the address itself) is kept after deletion so the same address cannot start a second free trial.
- Security logs are kept for a limited period to protect accounts and the service.
7. Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time, whatever your subscription status, from User Dashboard → Profile → Delete my account in the App, or on the web at www.pedotg.com/delete-account. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and you will receive a confirmation email.
8. Patient Data Prohibited
Important: PedOTG is a reference tool. Users are strictly prohibited from entering identifiable patient information (e.g., full name, patient numbers, or photos of patients) into notes or saved results. We do not knowingly collect or store any Patient Health Information (PHI). Growth-chart measurements are kept on your device and are not saved with patient details.
9. Global Compliance (GDPR & Bahrain PDPL)
While based in Bahrain, we aim to comply with international standards, including the Bahrain Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
